Creative Encounters in Awe Walking: Awe, Art and Presence

Join us on Saturday, April 6, from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. for our Creative Encounters in Awe Walking workshop, in which we will explore Awe, Art and Presence. This workshop will be held at the Tucson Museum of Art in Mooney Hall and ask participants to reflect on what it means to capture a moment in time.

In this workshop, participants will explore the Tucson Museum of Art Campus through open-ended prompts and learn about the intersection between art, nature and life. We will then create our own tiny worlds in a terrarium that you can take home.

This workshop takes place at the Tucson Museum of Art, located at 140 North Main Ave, Tucson AZ 85701.

Register by April 5.

About Creative Encounters in Awe Walking:

Creative Encounters in Awe Walking gives students and community members tools to encounter and share moments of awe in and across our communities. The goal is to promote awe walking as an accessible and affordable wellness practice across the lifespan. This is in response to recent neuroscience research that has associated positive health benefits with taking short walks while looking for things that inspire awe. The Creative Encounters in Awe Walking Workshop Series is run by Dr. Jennie Gubner and her Ph.D. student Sydney Streightiff and explores how creativity can be used as a tool to enhance and encourage awe-walking practices in your daily life.

These workshops are being presented in collaboration with community partners from the Tucson area, including The University of Arizona Museum of Art, The Tucson Museum of Art, Ignite Museum, the Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures and the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
