Aging and the Arts: Poetry Circle Series
A collaboration between the University of Arizona Health Sciences Innovations in Healthy Aging initiative and the University of Arizona Poetry Center, the Aging and the Arts: Poetry Circle Series will create a space for the community through a conversation about life through poetry.
Innovations in Healthy Aging presents: Mark Doty and Walt Whitman
Join us for monthly poetry discussions, led by the docents from the University of Arizona Poetry Center. This event is free and no preparation or knowledge of poetry is necessary to participate.
For anyone who enjoys poetry or learning more about poetry in a conversational setting, this informal gathering includes many opportunities to contribute to the conversation and ask questions. It is also a great way to meet people in the community who have similar interests.
About the Poetry
The topic for discussion at this meeting will be the poetry of Mark Doty and Walt Whitman and include a discussion of Doty’s book "What is the Grass: Walt Whitman in My Life."
